Make & Share Backyard Fair

The Make and Share Backyard Fair was organised by Beth Taylor and was held across two backyards in Marrickville. The aim was to build community and have fun, while raising money for charities OzHarvest and The Gethsemane Community, and to provide a free avenue for locals, artists and craftspeople to sell their wares.

Back in July, my husband’s grandma turned 80. She’s a pretty awesome lady, and we were a little stumped with to what gift to buy her. My Mother in Law was busy preparing a butterfly themed party for her so I offered to make a cascading butterfly cake. Gift and cake in one. Ripper.

A month or so ago I hosted a baby shower for my friend Roni. I ordered babushka cutters but they didn’t arrive in time. I made the Babushka cookies for a backyard ‘make and share’ fair instead.
